Networking and people that have the same beliefs that I do. If I don't find them, then I hope to educate people on Attachment Parenting.
I'm a non-vaccinating attachment mom - we strongly believe in the family bed, babywearing, extended breastfeeding, gentle discipline, and never sleep training. I believe anyone that practices CIO (cry it out) should be reported to Children's Services, and anyone that hits (spanks, taps, whatever word you'd like to put on it!) should go to jail.
Children are miracles and blessings. They are not little beings to be forced into independence once they are medically expelled from a womb; they should be brought into the world naturally, in a calm quiet non-medicinal environment and loved for as long as they can. The family bed is a natural, normal way to sleep, and I discourage cribs. Babies don't eat or sleep by the clock, their needs must be met as they come. Love those babies - they grow way too fast.
I also tire of the fearmongering and hype; children today live in a safe world (United States) and should be free to roam. Not allowing your child to walk to school or play in the yard is a form of child abuse, and you need to re-evaluate your own issues and not spread them to your child. What a glorious and safe world we live in, and I'm blessed that my children get to enjoy childhood the same way I did in the 70's.
